Its been ages since I last developed in this language and now the work requires me to do a minor backend revamp on a PHP site. So for the past weeks, I’ve been reviewing LAMPP stuff.
But after working on .net and pl/sql, programming using remote connection shells or even local editing is really not an option for me anymore. So for the last 4 days (or even more) the search for the best PHP IDE for me is on. Egad, I used up most of my development timeline for research instead of doing actual work!
Eureka! After days and hours of searching, downloading, installing and testing, I’m now using Eclipse with PHP IDE project plugin. Add a really nifty perspective called RSE (Remote Systems Explorer), which I stumbled upon another developer’s blog (just a few hours ago). Oh, and the whole caboodle is free, free, free!!
Thanks, Mr. Denis Roy, for the post, you just saved my neck!

Funny
I’m an eclipse fan myself. Been using it for several years. Can’t agree with you more - it’s da bomb!

Hi Sir Tiongks,

Too bad I just got in touch with you lately, I could’ve asked you agad instead of wasting time installing and testing.
