I’ve been an avid user of Skype since 2005. (Unfortunately the service was blocked here at work, pish.) Our family was very much dependent on it before my dad discovered the cheaper vonage alternative. (Dad shipped the VOIP phone unit modem here and hooked it up on our broadband, so for a measly $25/mo, we get a CA-based number and unlimited calls to the US, yipee!)
Anyways, its the first time since its release in 2003, the ever-popular VOIP service got shut down due to software errors. They’ve already found the bug but couldn’t quite pin point what caused it. Read about it more at the NY Times site.
