Elise will be turning 15 months old in 2 days. That’s her in braids, courtesy of her artistic pretty hairstylist, Tita Kat. (sorry for the crappy photo) Man, I can’t believe I have a 1 year old now. Gee, I really feel ancient.
She does a lot of stuff now on her own and I’m mighty proud of her.
She’ll be having her checkup and booster shots soon and because her pre-natal tooth is already decaying, I might need to bring her to a pediatric dentist, too.
Here’s a list of things she can do now:
- Recites words like: ‘daddy’, ‘hat-choo’, ‘tah’ (for tita), ‘deal’ (from that tv game show) and her latest ’tilapia’. (reality check: still can’t call me mommy or mama for some reason, sheesh)
- Can do ‘mano po’ as long as you give your hand to her
- Can go down from the bed or sofa, feet first
- Starting to run
- Really serious (and quiet) when I read picture books to her
- Lifts up her arms when we ask her if we can smell her ‘kili-kili’
- Can do drama or sometimes throw fits if she doesn’t get what she wants
- Eats anything, I know its bad but we actually use food to calm/quiet her down
- Loves watching commercials with music, and dances to them too
- Will kiss you either at will or if you ask her to
- Drinks from a cup with lesser spills, can also drink from a straw
- And my favorite: Holds her feet up when you’re about to put socks on her (aaawww!
)
I do make sure I spend at least and hour with her in the mornings before I leave for work. (which means waking up extra early to cook and do personal stuff before she wakes up)
And then spend her waking hours until she sleeps after I come home and had dinner. We usually end her day with a warm bath, then I let her play for about 30 mins, read her books. I would later ask her to lie beside me, give her her bottle when I see her rubbing her eyes. We’ve been doing this ritual for more than a month now and I think she likes it.
I really miss taking pictures of her. Our camera’s broken and we’re still saving up for a new one. (or donations for a camera will be very much appreciated, heehee) I seriously need to take more pictures, she’s growing too fast and I’m missing out on so many milestones.
I sure do wish I can spend more time with her so I can start hammering her into calling me ‘mommy’. Joke! ![]()

I agree that you should make a lot of photos and can even make a scrap book out of it.
That age is really great as they interact better. They can take all the pressure away instantly.
