Its inevitable! The cool breeze, christmas carols heard over the radio, the decors, the lights, the ‘ber’ months! Ayee! I can’t wait. I just love spending christmas in the Philippines (although I only missed celebrating one here in our country). I still believe our country celebrates this season the best way.
Simbang gabi (or simbang umaga at our church), the food, the presents, the long vacations. I hope its still as cold (or colder) than last year. And I just hope it doesn’t rain.
But before this year’s Yule, I get to celebrate my big 3-0. I just cancelled plans of having a big birthday getway since I’m sure I won’t be able to raise the funds for it. I’m still thinking of a good way to spend it with just a limited budget.
I definitely don’t want to have a party at home or eat out for my birthday. I don’t want a lot of people celebrating with me, even if its just family. I don’t know why. I’d rather go out of town, even if it’s just for a night, with the husband and the little girl. All for myself. A spa getaway, probably. I’m not sure.
I hope this doesn’t mean I’m starting to be a snob. I love my family, I do. But somehow, this year, I’d like it to be different.
Its hard to explain, but I do hope my family will understand.
