…I would stare at you to get your attention, then shut-open my eyes (once) while I smile at you the whole time.
Well, that’s Elise’s way of giving you “beautiful eyes”, instead of batting her lashes, which she cannot do yet. If you don’t know her well, you’ll think she’s eating something “maasim” (sour) when she’s actually just making “pa-cute”.
Oftentimes, Elise wakes up earlier than me. She would either wiggle around (between me and Pau) or touch my cheek or poke my nostrils (which I truly hate) to wake me up. When I do, she would stare at me and give me her version of “beautiful eyes”.
When I reply back with the same gesture, she’d do it again. We’ll be at it for about 4-5 times until she grows tired. She would then get up to either kiss me which signals her wanting to be let down from the bed. If she does forget, I can always ask for a smack before she gets her freedom.
I’d like to think its our “secret sign” to each other. But when I mentioned this to the hubby, he said they do the same thing when she gets up from a nap. Oh well, na-jelling na naman ang mommy.
But honestly, these are the small things that make my mornings so glorious that it definitely makes my day.
