Cutting Corners

If we don’t do things the proper way, take a lot of shortcuts and cut on the wrong costs, bad things are bound to happen. But if this was done on a bigger scale, like say in mall development, horrible things happen. Take the Glorietta 2 tragedy, for example.

According to the Inquirer, the PNP is almost conclusive that the blast wasn’t caused by a bomb. [Breathe sigh of relief here] They’re now looking it as a gas explosion and that it was caused by faulty waste management.

I’ve read stuff by Carlos Celdran, Jessica Zafra, the Carlo Cruz Letter and the Inquirer about this hulabaloo and its sad that bad urban planning backfired to the wrong (innocent) people. Talk about social irresponsibility talaga.

I hope this becomes a lesson to all of us, especially as parents.
