or just plain KSP? [looking for desperately seeking attention]
This woman just don’t know when to shut up. I just loathe that “matter-of-fact” tone in her writing, like she knows everything. Especially true in her latest article in the Manila Standard.
I refused to write about her in her previous hullaballoo here, here and here since it would mean more popularity for her. Heck, she became an instant celebrity because of it! But this time, I’d exercise my freedom of speech and write about her.
She said that blogging “is a slacker job or a medium and pastime for lonely people to connect.” Hello! Dear, you have no inkling as to what you were saying. Have you heard of social networking? Or online communities? Or how about SEO?
Lonely people, pssh. We, bloggers, happen to have social lives, relationships and careers as much as any hard-working bloke out there.
IMHO, blogging is serious work and even a source of bread and butter for some. (but not for me, outlet ko lang to*) And you don’t get rich by slacking on posts or by advertisements alone, there’s a lot of hard work involved in it.
You don’t just put ads on your site and write away, hoping that visitors will flock to your site and give you the hits you need to earn some moolah. You need to do much, much more. And I don’t think Ms. Fernandez knows that.
One more thing she pointed out: “The difference between a journalist and a blogger is that journalists have to adhere to certain guidelines that govern the freedom of speech.” And she considered herself a journalist? OMG, laugh trip ka! Bloggers, for me, are like columnists. Journalists of their own niche.
I was once a journalist in my former life. I know a journalist when I read one. She’s more of an “opinion writer” nga than a journalist since she would base her articles on thoughts and sentiments alone. Where are your facts?
If she were a journalist, like she claims to be, she would put some kind of cap on HER freedom of speech and stop stepping on other people’s toes.
She may detest people who gives vicious comments anonymously, I would certainly hate having those kind of people comment on my site too. They have no backbones.
But to associate people like them to bloggers?
I do agree with Bryanboy when he said attention is addictive. But stepping on others to get your much wanted attention is just plain desperate. Here’s what a blogger has to say about her. Read it and you’d want to pity her instead of hating her for her lack of manners.
*just my excuse, since I don’t earn as much as the others. AHAHAHA!
Update: Mr. Yugatech just nominated her as Link Baiter of the Year! Wagi!
