Elise is really matakaw nowadays. She loves to eat rice with sabaw, especially if its sinigang with gabi, her and her dad’s favorite. The only problem is that she gets hungry early in the morning and asks for her dede.
This morning was no exception. So, instead of her waking up prematurely from hunger, I prepared her dede, in the middle of my blogging morning hours, so that she would sleep longer.
She propped her head up sleepily when she heard me shaking her bottle. A few moments later, she said “mommy, ubos na” in her groggy voice. I stood up from the computer and took the bottle from an outstretched arm and laid it on our headboard. Then she piped, “mommy, tabi ka dito, tabi tayo”, while stroking the pillow beside her where I slept hours before.
Elise didn’t close her eyes until she made sure I was lying beside her. I waited for her snores before I stood and went back to my writing.
