I’ve never expected a lot for my birthday since I usually get disappointed when I expect too much. I have to blame it to my wild imagination. *smirk* Besides, another year of life is already a big enough present to me as it is - spent with good health, with family, friends and a lot of “charge it to experience” experiences to add on my hat.
So for about 12 or so birthdays ago, I stopped anticipating and let myself be surprised, which was way, way better. Years later, I got the biggest birthday suprise, yet! Let me count the ways:
- Long weekend, plus a day of filed leave to attend to my license. Unfortunately, the LTO near where we live wasn’t able to dig up my record, so I had to go to the main office, the following workday to attend to unfinished business. So that’s an additional emergency leave. Grr. At least, now, I’m no longer driving around license-less, which I’ve been doing for 2 years now. *bad mommy* Hurray!
- Friends from our place, better known as the “tropa”, gave me a suprise - my first ever! You have to hand it to them, finding mini cakes in the middle of the night was no easy feat. Tampo-tampo na ako nun since we were missing people, either two or three, for long periods of time.
- The hubby took me shopping despite the traffic, the crowd and hours of walking, considering that latter three are things he truly hates.
- Ate my favorite food, steak, two days in a row!
- Monetary blessings from the parents. And I thought the laptop was already my gift. Grabe!
- Swimming party courtesy of the church, no it wasn’t for me. But the fact I was able to go swimming and eat for a day for free on my birthday weekend was da BOMB!!
- Lotsa birthday greetings.
- Lotsa time with family.
