A couple of weeks ago, I got invited to witness the launch of Giselle Bundchen’s new line of Ipanema Sandals. The event was held at Le Souffle, The Fort.
Apart from getting a free pair of the designer slippers, we were treated with good mediterranean food and got to watch the Philippine Ballet Theatre strut their way on the ramp.
Here’s an image of my dessert, my main course shot was corrupted by my cheap-o memory card.
So instead of having models twirl and walk up and down the runway, they had dancers show off the versatility of the sandals.
And look at all those bloggers taking photos.
I know, I know, my photos are lame. You might just want to check out the posts and lotsa better pictures of my blogger table-mates here:
And the great thing about buying those sandals, albeit expensive, is that a portion of the sales will go to a good cause. Depending where you are, in our case, here in the Philippines, the proceeds will go to tree planting and reforestation projects, courtesy of ELRO Corporation and Haribon Foundation. They have another awareness event named, “Walk the Green Mile” and here are the details:
Date: March 21, 2009
Time: registration starts 3pm; walkathon starts 5pm
Assembly point: parking lot near Le Souffle, The Fort, Taguig (The Fort Strip, beside Embassy)
What awaits participants on this day:
If you are interested in joining the walkathon, get in touch with Ms. Maricel Mabalot of ELRO Corporation at 753-3647 to 48 local 103 or email cel.mabalot@elrocom.com.
If I can only afford these, I would pick buying them over other designer sandals. Its really a good way to be both stylish and at the same time help save the environment.
