Recipe #1 – Tuna Kangkong Express

Tuna Kangkong Express

Tuna Kangkong Express

Hi everybody! I’m so excited with this post since it heralds the start of my recipe series, inspired by a former co-worker who also shares her passion for cooking.  I’ve always loved to cook.  I started cooking since I was in high school. My family and my husband can attest to my many hits and misses. So how else do I learn by experimenting, right? (more…)

Fresh! Fresh! Fresh!

Okay, so I’m done moping.  I’ve got so many things to be grateful for.  So many things to do.  I need to focus on the more important things.  Like, how in the heck will I able to buy that mouth-watering strawberries and cream ice cream?  Man, I’ve been craving for it since I saw that commercial TV.  The problem is that we don’t have a ref, yet.  Its not practical for us to buy half a gallon then try to finish it between ourselves, right?

Ayayayay!  I remember craving for the same thing when I was pregnant with Elise back then.

  • A Trip to Mom and Tina’s

Some people (like my husband) can’t seem to understand the importance of dessert. Heck, there’s even a blog out there that’s entitled “Dessert Comes First“. To my family, especially to me and my sister, there’s always, ALWAYS, room for dessert, no matter how full we were.

So after the friday game night, my sister (and best friend in the whole wide world) and her boyfriend picked me up at the office. I was craving for sweets after having dinner with my co-workers. So they brought me to this place called Mom and Tina’s.

  • lefoversI’ve always wanted to be a food critic. For one, my appetite is insatiable (ahahaha) and two, I’m adventurous with food (among other things). I’m not scared to try out new food or to shell out if in case it were a bit expensive. As my dad would always say, scrimp on anything else except on food.

The only thing that would make me fail as one is that I always, ALWAYS forget to take photos of the food before it’s all consumed. When the food comes in, it takes extra willpower for me not to dig in immediately. Oh well… (me fails the marshmallow test)

  • Hooray for Instant Noodle Paper Bowls!

The news may already be old for some but I’d like to express my sincerest gratitude to a food manufacturer for changing the packaging of their famous instant noodles to something more “environment friendly”. I’m not sure of what their reasons were for the change were but I’m pretty sure paper bowls are still more expensive than styro ones.

I hope the others will follow suit soon.
