A couple of my friends were boggled as to why I haven’t been online for a few days now, considering I’m the perpetually online gal.  Hi guys, thanks for remembering, I got sick.  Yes, due to the sweet pasalubongs from officemates who came home from a gaming event in Davao (read: ube pastillas and durian candy), my left tonsils got inflamed and contracted pus (ew!), the left side of my neck swelling and fever.  So that’s what happens when I eat too much sweets.  Man, I haven’t experienced this since I was college. … the daughter and I are both sick.  At least she’s almost fully recovered, except for a few sniffles.  Me, I’m still coughing my lungs out.  Blech!

I hate getting sick.  Bah humbag!

My little girl got sick last week. She was admitted at the hospital and diagnosed with pneumonia, again. The first time was just last August. This time, we stayed for 5 days, 2 days longer than the last.

Why pneumonia? Well, its due to the fact that she was a preemie, that her immune system is still developing and that her lungs are still weak. There’s also the ever-changing weather, pollution and second hand smoke that may have also contributed to it.

You know what’s worse than having migraines? Its the thought that you’re so dependent on the pain-killing drugs and taking them doesn’t even assure you of its effectivity.

It was the first day of the year and I had the worst migraine in my life. I woke up with stars around my vision. In a few hours, I was sweating cold and my eyes were tearing up from the pain. I’ve already drank so many pain killers, but still they wouldn’t numb the tormenting ache. I wonder how much damage I’ve done to my liver for doing so.

I pray that it’ll soon be over. Right now, I’m functioning under the mercy of meds and I’m not even as productive. Bah!

After reasearching online about Elise’s pediatric or childhood asthma, I came across this scary article. (Yeah, that’s what you get from reading too much). Apparently, there have been studies linking antibiotics and asthma. When an infant received antibiotics at an early age, they usually develop asthma. Ayeee!!!
