I just started with my new work last Monday and admittedly it was a big huge culture shock for me. The company where I’m at now is uber conservative and formal as compared to the wild and crazy atmosphere where I came from.
But what struck me most is the almost personal way that the big bosses relate to all their employees, even with the rank and file. Like how timely that one of the bosses sent an email to everybody about the present global financial crisis and how we can deal about it as an individual.
I’m not going to post everything here since I really don’t have the guts to email him and ask if I can repost his email for all the world wide web to see. So here’s a gist of what he sent. (more…)

I remember that there was a time when we only buy just one type of light bulb, commonly used at home, the yellow 40W bulb. Not only does it generate so much heat, but it uses so much electricity.
Aren’t we just lucky that technology has found a way to reduce the wattage and yet deliver the same brightness that the old bulbs do?

Aren’t you just a tad bit curious as to where in the world your readers come from? Me? Well, I always am. That’s the reason why I have Feedjit. It tells me where they come from and help me recognize site referrers, if there are.
Thanks to Marghil via Twitter. He discovered a nice, little, more visually appealing thingamajig for your blog/site.

A lot of older married friends/relatives would tell me that the first few years of marriage would be the adjustment phase for any couple. Bickering, fighting and tampuhan is very much normal. But really, there are times when your SO doesn’t seem that much special or significant, anymore. Grr.

For me, saving electricity = saving money. Do you know that appliances in standby mode actually uses electricity even if they’re not in use? Think of it this way – its like you’re leaking out peso after peso each minute you leave it plugged. Ayee!!
And since today is Blog Action Day, may I invite everybody to make a difference, starting now? Let us unite to make sure all unused appliances are unplugged! Yey!

If you’re purchasing anything from food, over-the-counter medicines, small items or even when you’re buying just one item, ask them not to put it in a plastic bag anymore. Instead just ask for the receipt and then put your purchase in your bag.
How does it help? Less used plastic bags means less trash for the environment and even less trash for you. We seldomly have any other use for small plastic bags, anyway.
Do the same for fast food, refuse if they put cup covers on your cup when you eat in and try not to use plastic straws.
Remember, a little goes a long way!
