Mangafied Aiza

I got this from another blogger mom, Meng, who happens to be an officemate.  She made a manga-fied version of her whole family.  While I still have to make ones for the husband and the daughter, I’d like to share my manga-fied self.  (I already did a “cartoonize me” a while back with the simpsons and the south park engine)

Too bad the manga-nizing engine is not too user friendly, I mean, I can’t see the labels on the buttons. Hyuk, hyuk.  Still worth trying out, IMO, its still a fun tinker.

Aside from his oh-so-beautiful theme (inggit ang lola mo), he had this really embarrassing photo of the latest immigration/customs form. Susmiyo, I wonder what kind of country he thinks of the Philippines now! What will our tourists say? See the photo after the jump.

We’re in the tedious process of looking for a yaya for Elise now. The husband found work and we need someone to entrust the little girl to while we’re away. Lately, she’s been staying at my in-law’s while Paulo goes out everyday to tend to his paperworks. And whenever I call her on the phone, she refuses to talk to me. I don’t know if she knows how to make tampo na or she’s not fond of the phone.

Its been too long and we miss our little girl terribly. The house is just not the same without her. Its too quiet and too neat. Whenever she’s around, our little one-bedroom unit looks like a toy store during a crazy midnight sale. And its filled with her laughter, her kulit shouts of “Ma-meeee!” or “Mamee Aiz!” just to get my attention.

I especially miss her in the mornings. Mornings are our family time. Although I have to wake up extra early just to make sure I finish my chores (cooking baon and breakfast, bath, and washing dishes) before she’s up, I really don’t mind.

I miss her big grin when she wakes up and she sees me beside her. (with matching kiss pa yan, ha!) I make sure I spend at least half an hour to cuddle and play with her and Paulo before I leave for work.

Hay, lungkot. [sad]

Anyway, I’d like to share this article I got from my subscription at BabyCenter.com. Its really timely since it talks about the simple ways how to make your child feel special. And guess what? My morning moments agenda is first on their list.

Nice to know that an article actually affirms that you’re practicing good habits with your child. It really made my day better.

Today’s theme: What do you consider BEAUTIFUL? Oh, that’s a no-brainer for a mom like me.

To set the record straight, here’s the meaning of these two words.

pronunciation n. The act or manner of pronouncing words; utterance of speech. A way of speaking a word, especially a way that is accepted or.

diction n. From the word Dictionary; choice of words to fit their context

But now, even dictionary sites mistakes one for the other, too. But if you check out your old dictionary for the REAL meaning of the words, you’ll see them defined differently.

So that’s 6 years of ranting and whatnot from me. What sucks about it all is that I’m beginning to ignore my blog now. I used to write everyday. EVERYDAY!! And not just once, mind you. I guess that’s the downside of having so much stuff to do, on top of being a mom, a wife, a career-woman and a raketeer.

So what has happened for my past blogging year? Let me give you a recap:

3. Wrote my most popular post yet, The Filipina Campaign
4. Attended my first blogging EB
5. Won $100 from blogging
6. Wrote about being tan and proud of it

10. Started Gamerlite, my first pro-blogging site

I guess that’s all the note-worthy stuff I want to brag about. This year, my blogging resolution is to continue my 100-word a day exercise.

Why?

1. For one, its helping me improve my writing skills
2. It lets me vent out everyday frustrations
3. More posts = more readers = more impressions = more income from ads
4. And it helps me journalize parts of my life I know I will tend to forget years from now

So before I get old and senile and have more senior moments, here’s to 1 year of aizadgreat.com and many more to come!

After my checkup yesterday, the doctor ordered at least 3 days of bedrest (counting - day 2), a handful of medicines and a oral gargle with anesthetic.  She also asked me to be admitted if I still couldn’t swallow after a day of taking meds.

For a few days now, I couldn’t eat anything but soup, lugaw or instant mami.  Haha, sana pumayat ako kahit konti. Joke.

Last night was the worst.  I couldn’t eat, I was so feverish that I couldn’t get up to pee.  I was thinking of Elise the whole time and how I couldn’t hold or kiss or hug her because I’m sick.  So, I asked the hubby to bring me to the hospital to be admitted just to make sure I get well agad.

Luckily (or unluckily) the nearby hospital was full.  The ER was packed with patients waiting to be admitted.  So was 3 other hospitals that we called.  Anoveh! No rooms for the sick?  Absurd.

So my sister (who’s a doctor) took me in, the hubby and I stayed at my lola’s house, where she’s residing.  She gave me meds (puro samples = free, yehey!) and monitored me every so often.

I feel better now.  Although the pain on my throat is still there, but its now manageable.  I can eat normally again, although di pa kaya marami. (hehe no more lugaw muna)  Fever is still on and off. 

The busy body that I am can’t seem to sit still.  So I logged in, blogged a bit, chatted with a few friends until my head felt woozy from all the sudden activty.

Okay, nahihilo na ako.  I have to go and do what I was asked - bed rest.  Lesson from this experience?  I have to take care of myself for Elise and my family.  So bad that I had to learn everything the hard way.

Good thing the doctor also asked me to eat plain ice cream to minimize the swelling.  Sweet!

Well its my fault. The original plan was to have a nice clean site in white where I can just change the header/banner every so often, but I was sidetracked by this ProBloggery theme.

I wanted something like my old Tarski theme which stayed on for more than a year.

Oh well, I need want to revamp this site yet again. I hope I’ll be able to this coming long weekend.
