Having a Baby

No, not me. (at least not for another 5 years or so) My officemate’s wife tested positive this morning and he’s so esctatic that he decided to IM a lot of people, including me.

Being a parent for the first time was an experience I could never forget. Aaron’s IM reminded me of how Pau and I were all giddy when we found out we were going to have a baby. Thinking about our own encounter makes me smile silly. During that time, nothing could dampen my mood. I had this natural high. I even saved the pregnancy kit for Elise to see later.

Can’t believe how time flies, my little girl is turning 1 soon. I feel old. Old but happy.

Having a baby changes everything.

  • Milestones @ 10 months

Elise just turned 10 months old today. She’s turning out to be a big, silly, happy (bungisngis) baby. Have yet to go to the pedia to check out her current weight.

At 10 months she reached the following milestones:
    - two upper front teeth growing out
    - can self feed herself using pincer grasp (thumb and forefinger)
    - eats solids – rice and any soft viand (actually eats anything!!)
    - can finish 6 oz of milk in one feeding (or 4 oz after meals)
    - pulls herself up with support
    - can walk with support (either on walker or mommy holding elise’s hands = aching back)
    - babbles mama, dada, and tons of syllables
    - waves bye-bye

I miss my little girl (and husband) badly. Weekends are just not enough.

    P.W.I.T. (http://pwit.org/)

Funny name for a very informative site. Penned by an “army” (that’s what they call themselves) of people from my former industry, mostly whom I’ve already worked with. And yes, believe me, they are the authorities in their respective fields. A must read for every pinoy techie.

I’ve been out of the tech (and gaming) loop for so long, its hard to believe it was a former lifestyle. Reading from this site reminds me of how carefree and oblivious of the real world I was then. I had a passion and such curiosity for new technology and other frivolous things, leading me to neglect what’s practical and relevant. (Saving money, you ignoramus you) Its just sad that it’s only now that the reality hit me, ownership of new technology is only for people who can afford it.
