Here’s Baby Elise Gabrielle, 11 days old. No more oxygen and feeding tubes, just the IV, and gaining weight too! Hurray!
Can’t wait to take her home soon! I wonder who she’ll look like?

I gave birth last Friday, 26th of May 2006 around 12:45 am in an emergency cesearean section. My blood pressure shot up to 180/120 and I was on the verge of siezures so they had to take the baby out from me or she might suffer more. Baby Elise Gabrielle was 4 weeks preterm and she had to be left in the neonatal ICU for an undetermined number of days. She was born 8 months premature at 3.2 lbs and is 15 inches long. The specialist also observed that she has symptoms of sepsis and special medicines were administered to boost her immune system.
I’m just happy that my daughter and I were alive after what we’ve been through. I’m just sad that Pau and I had to go home empty handed. We just pray that we can bring our little princess home soon.

It’s not that I wanted Elise to come out already or that i’m getting impatient with my pregnancy. It’s just that being at home for bedrest for 2 weeks now is no walk in the park for me. Doctors orders. Man, what would I give to go window shopping at an airconditioned mall or even watch a movie for just a few hours. (Well, we’re still waiting for XMen 3, since the reviews for MI3 and Da Vinci Code is not so good)
What more, i’m running out of healthy, no salt, low fat, no cholesterol recipes. Nauumay na ako sa pesteng oatmeal, dammit! I don’t mind eating veggies all the time, its just that i’m running out of ideas of what to eat. Even salad dressings are high in sodium. Harrrumph!!
I’m also getting worried about Elise. My hypertensive medicine is not effective. First, I was to take it once a day, last week it was 2x a day, this week its 3x a day and after 2 days, its still its not lowering my BP at all. I hope she’s still okay inside me. And when i don’t feel her moving for hours at a time, i really, really, really tend to get very, very, very worried.
Please continue to pray for me and my baby.
*sigh*

Man, its been almost 3 months since I ate my last KFC chicken. I always thought that I couldn’t last without a taste of that juicy, salty, yummy chicken, even for just once in two weeks. Its my favorite fastfood, ever.
And if I ever did cheat on my diet and ate even just a piece, here’s what my lower leg would look like:

So there, I’ll try my very best not to cheat, for the baby’s sake…or else….hello elephant feet

Instructions: Name ten of life?s simple pleasures that you like the most, then pick ten people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used.
[from Adel and Jayvee]
1. Waking up late with a hug from my husband.
2. Immersing in a cold swimming pool on a scorching summer day. (heaven for pregnant women)
3. Ice cream, preferrably a pint of FIC’s strawberry with barquillos!! ![]()
4. Eating anything without worrying about high sodium content and edema.
5. Spending a day with my brother and sister.
6. Chatting with my folks and seeing them via webcam.
7. Playing videogames the whole day. Pangya!
8. Someone sincerely appreciating your cooking.
9. Airconditioning!!!!
10. Going out with grandma and treating me to lunch.
I’d go with Jayvee and not send this to others. I’d rather read it from their blogs or their sites. This was quite an eye opener.
I can’t believe Adel going over 10, thinking of 10 already took me sometime.
